new friend for Molly

I read something yesterday on the board about a "new" friend for Molly coming out. Is there any more information around. I can't wait!!

I don't think anyone is sure yet if Molly's friend Emily IS the next friend doll. It seems to be the most "for sure" answer at the moment.

Someone here met Valerie Tripp (the author of most of the AG books), who said she was currently writing an Emily book. Which doesn't necessarily mean that Emily IS next. It's possible she already finished a Ruthie book, and AG just asked her to write up the next one, too. It's also possible AG just asked her to write them for the near future, and there's (yeah right) an all new historical coming out soon.

There's a trademark for an Emily doll, but the description doesn't seem, IMO, to be the same as the historical's dolls', or even the historical friend dolls. However, AG has stated that Emily will be the friend for Molly when she gets one (not Susan and/or Linda), so it would be weird of them to make a different Emily doll, when they'll eventually be making Molly's Emily.

Personally, I think the fact they just released those roller skates is a mark against Emily coming out this year, shouldn't they have held off for those until Emily's release?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">It's probably marketing strategy - introduce some cute new items for Molly which are hard to resist and which will stir up some more interest in Molly and then introduce the friend. They want to snare more Molly shoppers beforehand.

I wonder what the new friend will be. So far I do not like either of the friend dolls, so my interest in the new doll is very minimal. I am curious to see it, but not enough to spend Spring & Summer agatating. However, they may be releasing her earlier anyway, because she was there for Molly's B day anyway.
